People may need additional support, alongside the support of their community. The Jewish community has a wealth of social care provision, with a range of activities from support groups, social work, therapies, employment support and full-time care.
People should ideally self-refer to these organisations. If they would like support with a referral, you will need their explicit consent, for example making a call with them, or cc-ing them on an email referral. It is also possible for you to call without giving the person’s name, to find out more about what could be available, which may give them the confidence to self-refer.
You are welcome to talk through any cases with the US Chesed Team or the Safeguarding and Welfare Team.
Of course, there are many other Jewish and non-Jewish charities which also offer excellent support, however, we are unable to compile a fully comprehensive list and people may choose to do their own research to find alternatives. We will continue to spotlight Jewish organisations in our monthly newsletter and add them to this page.

US Chesed Conference 2025
Our conference was a chance for volunteers & Coordinators to explore 'Bright Ideas for your Community’ – ways to extend and expand what we do by learning from one another, and from specialists, bringing their expertise into our spaces to enhance our building project.

Jewish Visiting
Did you know US Chesed runs the Jewish Visiting team? We have chaplains across most of the London NHS Hospitals. If you have a member who is in Hospital and would like a chaplain or visitor to visit them, you can contact us directly and we can arrange this. They can help ensure the patient has kosher food, provide pastoral and emotional care, or just be a friendly face for a chat, and are also there to support relatives. They can also help with other Jewish practices - several went to blow the shofar for patients last year. Just email info@jvisit.org.uk
