The one-stop shop for community leaders
Welcome to the US Community Think Tank, curated by the Community Development Team of the United Synagogue (each of whom is a Community Partner).

Working primarily with the lay-leaders of United Synagogue communities but also with Rabbinic teams, the Community Development Team is here to help communities with opportunities and challenges. We help develop the best ideas and strategy to suit communities at all stages of their journey, assisting leaders individually with their roles and advising on leadership structures.

The Community Think Tank is the one-stop shop for community leaders to access strategy, support and ideas for programmes and educators.

Strategic thinking is explored on the Strategy blog. Essential regulations and guides are available on the Chairs Handbook and policies page, alongside and innovatory help with practical impact such as guidelines for Lay Mentors to Rabbinic Staff, or the Sabbatical Guidelines for Rabbis. Leadership structure might usefully begin with this video and individual Honorary Officers such as Women’s Officers or Wardens can find guidelines and resources.
We hope that you find the Think Tank useful. Please let us know what you think.
