Chanukah Variety Show
Target audience: Everyone
Description: A virtual variety show wherein we had a range of different performers take part, some from within the community as well as some special guests including Dame Maureen Lipman. We had all different types of performances including music, singing, magic, jokes, sketches, poetry and monologues.

Aim: To spread joy, happiness and entertainment during Chanukah at home

Why was it a success? It offered 'something for everyone' within the community, from the youngest to oldest, most affiliated to least affiliated and it brought us altogether, albeit virtually!
Advice to communities looking to replicate: It is a great event to do, it can be time-consuming to arrange all of the performances and create and edit a video of all of them, so make sure to begin work a couple of months beforehand!

Aim: To engage members who are interested in cooking simple recipes

Why was this a success? The recipes were short and simple and real - this was members sharing their own simple recipes, not complicated professional recipes with lots of challenging ingredients!

Art for the soul
Target audience: Everyone

Description: Each person received a canvas with a design drawn on. The design is inspired by Torah, and explained a Torah idea and how it connects to what they're about to create. And then step by step explain how to paint it.

Aim: To teach Torah through art, and to bring people together to create.

Why was it a success? People really enjoyed it and were proud of what they created.

Advice to communities looking to replicate: Depending on your community you may want to adjust how much Torah you give over and the way you share it. Make sure the paintings not too complicated, and maybe limit the numbers as if you do it in the same way, you have to prepare each canvas and draw the design on which can take time.
