Finchley
Day Tour of Wiener Library and Old Bailey
Target audience: Kinloss Community

Description: The Wiener Holocaust Library is one of the world’s leading and most extensive archives on the Holocaust, the Nazi era and genocide. The Library’s unique collection of over one million items includes published and unpublished works, press cuttings, photographs and eyewitness testimony.
The Old Bailey Tour includes viewing The Royal Courts of Justice & Lincoln's Inn and a talk outside the Old Bailey. Entry to the public galleries is usual but cannot be guaranteed as it is a government building and the tour guide does not have control over who is allowed access

Why was it a success? Interesting presentations on two very different topics in two very different settings.

Advice for communities looking to replicate: Too much walking for the older demographic - even within the Judicial London tour - comprising both Royal Courts of Justice and Old Bailey.

Alei Tzion
Hendon History Scavenger Hunt
Target audience: Everyone/members
Description: The backbone was a light-hearted Zoom/Powerpoint on the history of Hendon, including plenty of in-jokes. People wrote down their answers during the quiz and emailed them in afterwards to a specially made email address. It was high-pressure mixed with high-culture!

Aim: Fun and novelty, with some education

Why was it a success? It felt novel; the questions were challenging and got people WhatsApping each other; the history was new to most people and (I flatter myself) fairly-well presented; and the photos were revelatory.
Advise for communities looking to replicate: Lots of advice - contact Ben for more information!

Why was it a success? Brings people together, creates an intimate warm atmosphere, people feel uplifted afterwards, learning something new about language and its poetry. Beautiful!
Advise for communities looking to replicate: Online it's harder to maintain the atmosphere, so consider limiting the capacity to 20
